Somehow Ended Up in Montreal

An update: things DID get wild!!! We are exceptionally grateful for Chad's parents who flew to Montreal to meet us for a quick weekend getaway, only to then tow a 12,000 pound trailer back to Maine from upstate New York. Like I mentioned before, extremely calculated move: plan a vacation to make sure Terry is available to help us with hitching the trailer and backing up. ❤️

We showed up to pick up our gal on a not so beautiful, rainy, cold, windy spring day. Though our seller wasn't there, his friend graciously helped us hook up our trailer (dead battery and all) and got us on our way.

100 rainy miles later, we pulled into our Airbnb near Burlington, Vermont. One could argue that this should have been an easy stop over due to the large yard we could park in, but I'm here to tell you that I left a soggy hole in our host's yard and they are down a tree branch. As I was pulling in to park, I didn't realize there was a tree branch in the way of the fifth wheel part of the trailer. And I don't think our host expected our rig to be so tall. No problem -- he zipped into his garage, came back with a saw, and cut down the branch with no questions asked. An absolute star.

We parked, celebrated with dinner and ice cream, and obviously actually celebrated with playing Five Crowns. (Never played? You're missing out.)

The next morning was so beautiful it was almost unreal. A sunrise glowed through the steam rising from the dewey grass. And a monstrous fifth wheel trailer sat in muddy tire tracks in the front yard of our kind Airbnb host.

At last, we made it back to Maine and got the rig all set up at our campsite where we'll be for the next few months, which we found on HipCamp (it's like AirBnB for camping/RVing).

Now we're sitting by the electric fireplace, which is burning extremely realistic purple flames, while we write this post. Our first night in the rig! (Still taking name suggestions, by the way.) Next steps include selling everything in our apartment, getting settled in, finishing up school/work and planning our first stops on our upcoming journey. Currently, we can mostly use the water and we've finally sucked all the lady bugs up. This is what living the dream is, right?

If you " somehow" ended up in MONTREAL, this is going to be a very long roadtrip! Tu parles Français?
